Complete the attached form beginning January 1, 2023 and return it to the Valley Springs School District (Superintendent's office). School Choice Forms must be received or post marked by May 1, 2023. The Boone County Educational Cooperative is finalizing its Hazard Mitigation Plan draft prior to submission to the Arkansas Division of Emergency Management and FEMA for review and approval. The plan assesses natural hazards’ risks and vulnerabilities to the school districts of Alpena, Bergman, Harrison, Lead Hill, Omaha, and Valley Springs. It provides recommendations to increase their hazard resiliency and reduce risk. In doing so, these actions aim to protect property, life, and the operations of these school districts. Due to current conditions, the draft plan will not be available for viewing in person, but is instead available in PDF format or with each school district’s superintendent. If you would like a copy of the draft plan emailed to you, please contact aliza.jones@lavacaschools.com. We invite you to take the next two weeks to review the draft, provide any input you may have, or ask any related questions. Please direct all inquiries to: mitigation@tworiversem.com.
