Valley Springs Geek Squad - "You Wreck it, We Tech it”

Our goal is to make sure Faculty/Staff and Students have the best possible experience involving technology. We do all we can to make sure everything runs smoothly throughout the year and continuously strive to improve what we currently have.

Technology Coordinator - Mike Whitescarver

"I grew up in Valley Springs, graduated from the school, went on to graduate from College of the Ozarks with a BS in Computer Science, and then moved to Joplin, MO.  There I resided for 6 years, writing computer software for a manufacturing company called Leggett & Platt. (I also got married in that time span...love you Aimee!)  In the summer of 2007, I took a job offer to come back to Valley Springs and become the Technology Coordinator at the school.  Since that moment, my life has been golden...well, for the most part. (wink) I love my God, wife, son & daughter, Cardinals, Razorbacks, and to joke around.  Oh...I kinda like technology stuff too."

Computer Technician- Josh Moore

"Well let’s see.  It’s hard to sit down and write about yourself, so I will give a whirl.  Technology is exciting to me, I guess it always has been.  At a young age I remember always wanting to disconnect and reconnect cables, take things apart to figure out the problem, diagnose etc.  It’s a world that is changing and everything around us seems to be more “techy”.  I love it.  I am not only just a “computer geek” but I am also a fan of sports.  Unlike the guy above me I am an Alabama Fan as well as a White sox fan.  I enjoy being with my beautiful Bride and family.  I want to strive daily to be more like my Jesus, when I can be like him then I can be the better at all my other titles."

The Boone County Educational Cooperative is finalizing its Hazard Mitigation Plan draft prior to submission to the Arkansas Division of Emergency Management and FEMA for review and approval. The plan assesses natural hazards’ risks and vulnerabilities to the school districts of Alpena, Bergman, Harrison, Lead Hill, Omaha, and Valley Springs. It provides recommendations to increase their hazard resiliency and reduce risk. In doing so, these actions aim to protect property, life, and the operations of these school districts. Due to current conditions, the draft plan will not be available for viewing in person, but is instead available in PDF format or with each school district’s superintendent. If you would like a copy of the draft plan emailed to you, please contact aliza.jones@lavacaschools.com. We invite you to take the next two weeks to review the draft, provide any input you may have, or ask any related questions. Please direct all inquiries to: mitigation@tworiversem.com.
